I’m Hannah and Brave Bear Pictures is my own little corner of the internet. I’m going to give you a brief whistlestop tour of me and my life and hopefully you’ll get a flavour of the kind of things I love and that make me smile.
I’m originally from Up North, I was born in York, spent a large part of my early life in Doncaster, returned to York for Uni life and newly married life there but have also lived in Germany and am now settled in Kent with my Husband Michael and my wonderful little boy George.
Michael and I met in a previous working life and after a long time driving North and South along the A1 to see one another we got married, bought a house and started to be grown ups (we try at least).
For the last five years I have been a full time wedding photographer shooting everything from relaxed festival style days in Tipis and Yurts to more glitzy affairs in some of the most beautiful hotels across the country. Over the last year or so since George has arrived I’ve scarcely been able to put my camera down.
I take photos of him, Michael and our family together every week. As I’ve been doing this I’ve realised that although family photography is very popular, so much of it is geared towards putting hats on babies, sitting them in acorns or posing them delicately with their chin in their hands and it’s never something that was especially my taste.
So more recently I have begun shooting documentary family sessions alongside my wedding work. The approach is very similar and I love the photos that come about as a result of this approach. Whether its weddings or families my photography is always about creative natural, relaxed photos in the most stylish and creative way I can with minimal fuss or posing.
What happens now? Well if you’ve enjoyed what you read and loved what you’ve seen then get in touch via the Contact Form. I do Skype calls most weekday evenings and if you’d like to meet face to face you’re more than welcome to come to my home in Kent one evening for a cup of tea and you
can tell me all of your plans and ask me any questions you have. If you’ve not yet had a chance, take a look at some of my favourite photos and all of my recent work over on the Blog.
All the best for now,
